Working with Cells – Lesson 7

In this lesson, we are going to learn how to work with cells in Excel, including how to select, insert, delete, and manage cell content efficiently.

Every Excel worksheet is made up of thousands of cells, identified by the intersection of columns and rows. Each cell has a unique address like C5, and cells can be grouped into ranges such as A1:A5. You’ll learn how to select individual cells or ranges using your mouse or keyboard, and understand how to reference them for various tasks.

This lesson will also teach you how to enter, edit, and clear cell content. You’ll work with different types of data, including text, numbers, and formulas, and explore formatting options to change how the data appears. Additionally, you’ll learn the difference between clearing content and deleting entire cells, and how the surrounding cells adjust when deletions are made.

You will also explore time-saving techniques like copying, cutting, and pasting cell content, as well as how to use drag-and-drop to move data within your worksheet. By mastering these skills, you’ll be able to handle cell-based data more accurately and efficiently, making your spreadsheet work easier and more organised.
